2019 Colour Explosion School RUN4FUN

The School Run4Fun Colour Explosion is next week!  The event will start at 1:40pm on the School Oval.  Don’t forget to bring a white t-shirt and a change of clothes as you will be covered in vibrant, non-toxic colour powder.


If you want more information on the colour powder we will use in our event, please request the Test Report at the School Office.  The powder we will use is sourced from India, the home of Holi Powder.  It’s non-toxic, environmentally friendly, biodegradable and skin safe.  Only the best for our students!

SHHPS 10th Year Anniversary Assembly

On Friday, 24 August 2018, students, staff and visitors enjoyed our 10th Year Anniversary Assembly.

Hatching Chickens

On Monday, 30 July 2018 the chicken incubator arrived so that we could once again hatch chickens in the School Library. All classes have the chance to interact with the chickens now they have hatched. Other family members are welcome to come and have a look before or after school. The chickens will leave our school on Friday, 17 August 2018.

NAIDOC School Visit

On Wednesday, 27 June 2018 our Year 1 to 6 students enjoyed a visit from Bindjareb Middars for NAIDOC week.

Activities included:

  • Didgeridoo and dance
  • Boomerang throwing
  • Face painting
Speak Up Awards

At the start of this term, all Year Fives and Sixes were given the knowledge of how to write and present a speech. Each student then prepared their own speech and performed it in front of a peer audience on Thursday, 21 June 2018

The adjudicators then had the difficult task of deciding who will be the winners of the competition.

The three winners that were announced will be entered into the State Speak Up Awards competition as representatives of our school.

The Students on Room 19 also gave an amazing performance of "This is Me" from The Greatest Showman.

Student Councillors visit Parliament House

On Thursday, 14 June 2018 our Student Councillors were invited to Parliament House to meet with Zac Kirkup MP. The students had a guided tour of Parliament House followed by a formal, three course lunch.  After lunch, the students had the opportunity to sit in on Parliament and listen to the discussions.
