Kindy enrolments for South Halls Head Primary School in 2025 open on Tuesday 16 April 2024. Please come into our office to collect an Application for Enrolment form as this form needs to be completed in person. (Office hours are 7:30am to 3:30pm) In addition please bring the following with you:
- Original Birth Certificate
- Immunisation Records (Medicare AIR Immunisation History Statement - no more than 2 months old)
- Proof of Residence (i.e. recent utilities bill, lease agreement, etc.)
- Visa documents (also passport) if you are in Australia on a visa and/or permanent residency documents (i.e. Australian Citizenship papers)
- Medical documentation if your child has a medical condition
- Anything else that you believe to be relevant
In Western Australia, children can start their education in Kindergarten, however compulsory schooling starts the following year in Pre Primary.
Who needs to enrol
You need to apply to enrol your children in school for 2025 if they are:
- starting Kindergarten – 4 years old by 30 June 2025
- starting Pre Primary, the first year of compulsory school – 5 years old by 30 June 2025
- starting Year 7, the first year of secondary school
- changing schools.
You need to enrol your child at the school.

All children of compulsory school age must be enrolled in school and attend every day – this is the law. All children must attend school up until they are 16 years old. Sixteen and 17 year olds must be enrolled in school or a training organisation, be employed or be in a combination of school/training/employment.
Every child from Pre Primary to Year 12 is guaranteed a place at their local public school.
